Savings Account

The Savings wallet is a wallet section designed for earning and holding assets in a planned/locked format instead of using them for active trading. In Savings, your funds are usually placed into a Savings plan where they may be locked for a period of time or follow a specific release schedule. While funds are in Savings, they are typically not available for Spot trading or withdrawals until they are released (depending on your platform rules).

Savings exists for users who want:

  • A structured way to set aside assets
  • Clear tracking of locked amounts and release timing
  • A separation between “trading funds” and “saving/holding funds”

Unlike Spot or Futures wallets (which are built for active trading), Savings focuses on plans, locking, and release history.

What the Savings wallet is used for

The Savings wallet is used for:

  1. Locking assets into Savings plans

    • Users can move assets into Savings to keep them in a controlled plan.
    • Plans may be time-based (locked for X days) or release-based (released gradually).
  2. Tracking locked balances

    • Savings shows what amount is currently locked and cannot be used.
  3. Tracking release progress

    • Savings provides visibility into what is waiting to be released and what has already been released.
  4. Separating funds by purpose

    • Many users keep long-term holdings in Savings and keep trading funds in Spot/Futures.

How Savings works (core concept)

Savings works with three main states:

1) Locked Assets (Active)

These are assets currently inside Savings plans.

  • They are considered “active” because the plan is still running.
  • These funds are usually not tradeable or withdrawable until unlocked.

2) Pending Release

These are assets that are scheduled to unlock or are waiting to be released.

  • The plan may be near completion
  • Or the system may release in stages (partial unlock) Pending release helps users understand:

“My assets are not lost — they are scheduled to be released.”

3) Released Assets

These are assets that have already been unlocked.

  • Released assets typically return to a usable wallet (often Spot), or become available for withdrawal/trading based on your system rules.
  • Savings records these releases so users can audit what happened and when.

Savings usually displays a summary like:

  • Total Locked Assets
  • Pending Release
  • Released Assets

Savings sections (how to read the UI)

Overview

The Overview page is the main dashboard for Savings. It summarizes:

  • How much you currently have locked
  • Whether anything is waiting to release
  • How much has already been released historically Use Overview to quickly check:

“What is my current Savings situation right now?”

Active Plans

Active Plans lists all Savings plans that are currently running. Each plan usually shows:

  • Asset name
  • Locked amount
  • Start date
  • Duration (or plan schedule)
  • Expected release date or release pattern
  • Current status (Active)

If you have no active plans, the system may show “0 active plans.”

Release History

Release History shows records of all completed releases/unlocks. It is useful for:

  • Confirming that unlock happened
  • Seeing the exact amount released
  • Checking the date/time of release events
  • Auditing long-term activity

Typical user flow (how people use Savings)

  1. Decide to set aside an asset (e.g., sUSD or OZ).
  2. Move funds into Savings or start a Savings plan.
  3. Funds become Locked and are no longer available in Spot.
  4. As the plan progresses:
    • Funds remain locked
    • Or move into Pending Release near the unlock time
  5. When the plan unlocks:
    • Funds are Released
    • The release is recorded in Release History
  6. User can then trade, transfer, or withdraw the released assets (based on wallet rules).

Why users may not see assets in Spot after saving

Common confusion:

“I moved my funds, now my Spot balance decreased.”

Expected behavior:

  • Spot balance decreases
  • Savings locked balance increases
  • Funds are still yours, just in another wallet category and often locked.

Common issues and explanations

“Why can’t I withdraw or trade my Savings assets?”

  • They are locked in a plan. Check Active Plans, Pending Release, and release time.

“What does Pending Release mean?”

  • Assets are expected to unlock soon or are being released. They are not fully usable until moved to Released/Available.

“I don’t see any plans but my balance changed”

  • Check Release History and internal transfer records. Plans may complete quickly; records stay in history.

Tips & best practices

  • Only move into Savings the amount you won’t need for immediate trading.
  • If you trade frequently, keep trading funds in Spot and long-term funds in Savings.
  • Check Active Plans and Release History to track unlock schedules.
  • If you need liquidity soon, avoid starting long lock plans (if multiple plan types exist).
